📚 Historical Context
In the Book of Numbers, God was organizing the Israelite camp in the wilderness after their exodus from Egypt, assigning specific duties to the Levites who were set apart for the service of the Tabernacle. The Levites were divided into three main families, the Kohathites, Gershonites, and Merarites, each responsible for different elements of the Tabernacle to ensure it could be transported and maintained during their journeys. The sons of Merari were specifically charged with the structural parts, such as the boards, bars, pillars, and sockets, highlighting God's emphasis on order and careful stewardship in worship.
