Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.
Tell Eleazar, Aaron's son who is a priest, to pick up the incense burners from the fire and scatter the coals away from here, because the burners are holy.
God is instructing that the sacred incense burners be rescued from the fire and treated with respect because they had been consecrated for holy use.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of Numbers, Korah and his followers rebelled against Moses and Aaron's leadership, challenging their authority and offering incense in defiance, which led to God consuming 250 of them with fire as judgment. Eleazar, the son of Aaron, was then instructed to collect the censers used in this rebellion because they had been brought before the Lord and thus became holy objects. This event highlights the consequences of challenging God's appointed leaders during the Israelites' wilderness journey.
