Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
You will definitely not enter the land that I promised to give you as your home, except for Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
God is telling the Israelites that because of their lack of faith, only Caleb and Joshua from their generation will be allowed to enter the Promised Land.
📚 Historical Context
This judgment came after the Israelites received a report from twelve spies who had scouted the Promised Land. Ten spies brought back a fearful report about giants and fortified cities, causing the people to rebel against God's plan to enter the land. Only Caleb and Joshua trusted God's promise and encouraged the people to move forward with confidence in God's power.
