Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
I promise you, they will not see the land that I promised to their ancestors with an oath. None of those who rebelled against me will see it.
God is declaring that the Israelites who rebelled against Him will not enter the Promised Land that He had sworn to give their ancestors.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of Numbers, the Israelites had just received a negative report from the spies about the Promised Land, leading to widespread fear and rebellion against God. Despite God's previous miracles, like the Exodus from Egypt, the people doubted His ability to deliver them, which provoked His anger. As a result, God declared that this unbelieving generation would not enter the land He had sworn to give their ancestors.
