But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
But for a whole month, until it comes out of your nose and you are sick of it, because you have rejected the LORD who is with you, and have cried to him saying, 'Why did we ever leave Egypt?'
God is telling the Israelites they will get so much of what they complained for that they'll become sick of it, because they rejected Him and wished they had never left Egypt.
📚 Historical Context
In the Book of Numbers, the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness after their deliverance from slavery in Egypt, where God had been providing them with manna as daily sustenance. They grew discontent and complained about this miraculous food, expressing a longing for the variety of meats they had in Egypt, which revealed their ingratitude and forgetfulness of God's faithful provision. As a consequence, God promised to give them meat in abundance, but it would become repulsive to them as a judgment for their rebellion against Him.
