The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
That servant's master will show up on a random day when he's not expecting it, at a time when he's completely caught off guard. He'll be severely punished and thrown in with everyone who never believed.
Stay ready so you don't have to get ready, you never know when accountability comes knocking.
📚 Historical Context
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus is teaching his disciples through a parable about a servant entrusted with managing the household while the master is away, emphasizing the need for constant readiness and faithfulness. This reflects the cultural norms of ancient Jewish society, where servants were expected to handle responsibilities diligently or face severe consequences upon the master's return. It also connects to the broader biblical theme of God's unexpected judgment and the anticipation of Christ's second coming.
