And if he will not redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more.
But if he chooses not to buy back the field, or if he has already sold the field to someone else, then it can never be bought back again.
This verse is saying that once someone gives up their opportunity to reclaim their dedicated field, or sells it to another person, they permanently lose the right to get it back.
📚 Historical Context
In ancient Israel, the book of Leviticus provided detailed laws for dedicating property to God, including fields that could be redeemed or bought back during specific times like the Year of Jubilee. This verse addresses the consequences if the original owner decides not to redeem a dedicated field or sells it to someone else, emphasizing the permanence of such dedications in Israelite society. These rules helped maintain order and underscore the sacredness of vows in a community where land was a vital part of inheritance and God's covenant.
