Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
Therefore, you should follow my laws and keep my commands by doing what they say. When you do this, you will live safely in the land.
God is promising that when His people obey His laws and commands, they will live securely in their homeland.
📚 Historical Context
This verse comes during God's instructions to the Israelites about the Year of Jubilee, a special time every 50 years when debts were forgiven and land was returned to original owners. Moses was delivering these laws as the Israelites prepared to enter the Promised Land after their exodus from Egypt. The promise of dwelling safely in the land was especially meaningful to a people who had been slaves and wanderers for generations.
