Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
These offerings are in addition to the LORD's sabbaths, your gifts, all your promised offerings, and all your voluntary offerings that you give to the LORD.
This verse explains that the festival offerings being discussed are extra, they don't replace the regular sabbath observances or other gifts people choose to give to God.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of Leviticus, God was instructing the Israelites through Moses on how to observe various feasts and holy days as part of their covenant relationship with Him. This verse clarifies that the appointed feasts are in addition to the regular Sabbaths and other dedicated practices like gifts, vows, and freewill offerings that the people were to give to the Lord. It highlights the all-encompassing nature of worship in ancient Israelite life under the Mosaic Law.
