Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.
So you must carefully follow all my laws and rules, and obey them completely, so that the land where I'm bringing you to live won't vomit you out.
God is telling the Israelites that they must obey all His laws so they can stay in the Promised Land, disobedience will cause the land itself to reject them.
📚 Historical Context
The book of Leviticus contains laws given by God to the Israelites through Moses as they prepared to enter the Promised Land, emphasizing holiness and separation from the practices of surrounding nations. This verse serves as a warning that disobedience to God's statutes could lead to expulsion from the land, much like the Canaanites were removed for their idolatry and immorality. It reflects the conditional nature of the covenant, where obedience was key to remaining in the land God promised.
