No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire.
Don't make any grain offering that you bring to the LORD with yeast in it. You must not burn any yeast or honey in any offering to the LORD that goes into the fire.
God is instructing His people that grain offerings must be made without yeast or honey when they're burned as sacrifices.
📚 Historical Context
This instruction was given to the Israelites as part of the detailed sacrificial system God established after they left Egypt. Grain offerings were common sacrifices that accompanied other offerings, made from fine flour, oil, and frankincense. The prohibition against leaven (yeast) and honey likely related to their fermentation properties, as God wanted offerings that represented purity and wouldn't spoil or change during the sacrificial process.
