📚 Historical Context

This verse comes at the end of a chapter listing prohibited sexual and moral practices as God prepared the Israelites to enter the Promised Land. God was using Israel as His instrument of judgment against these nations while simultaneously protecting Israel from adopting the same destructive behaviors.
