📚 Historical Context
In the time of the Judges, Israel was caught in a cycle of sin, oppression by foreign nations like the Philistines, and deliverance through God's chosen leaders. Manoah, a man from the tribe of Dan, and his barren wife had just received a visit from an angel of the Lord, who announced that she would bear a son dedicated as a Nazirite to begin delivering Israel from the Philistines. Manoah then prayed for the angel to return and provide clear instructions on how to raise this promised child.
