So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.
So Eliphaz from Teman, Bildad from Shuah, and Zophar from Naamah went and did exactly what the LORD had told them to do. And the LORD accepted Job.
The writer is showing that Job's three friends obeyed God's command to ask Job to pray for them, and God restored His relationship with Job.
📚 Historical Context
In the Book of Job, after God rebukes Job's friends for their erroneous speeches that misrepresented His character, He commands them to offer sacrifices and have Job intercede for them as a means of atonement. This verse shows Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar obeying God's directive, which leads to God's acceptance of Job and highlights the theme of divine justice and restoration in the ancient Near Eastern context of suffering and wisdom literature.
