KJV ORIGINAL
And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. ✦ MADE SIMPLE

When his children finished their round of feasting together, Job would send for them and make them ceremonially clean. He would get up early in the morning and offer burnt offerings for each of his children, because Job thought, 'Maybe my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.' Job did this regularly.

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

Job was so devoted to God that he regularly offered sacrifices for his children, just in case they had sinned during their celebrations.

📚 Historical Context

In ancient times, the head of the household served as the family priest, offering sacrifices on behalf of family members. Burnt offerings were completely consumed by fire as a way to atone for sin and demonstrate devotion to God. Job's children apparently took turns hosting feasts at their homes, which was a common practice among wealthy families.
