And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
I will throw you out of my presence, just like I threw out all your relatives, the entire family of Ephraim.
God is warning that He will remove His people from His presence and their land, just as He did with the northern kingdom of Israel.
📚 Historical Context
Jeremiah was prophesying to the people of Judah during a time of widespread idolatry and moral decay in the 7th century BC, warning them that God would judge them harshly if they did not repent. He references the earlier exile of the northern kingdom of Israel, including the tribe of Ephraim, which was conquered and scattered by the Assyrians in 722 BC as punishment for their unfaithfulness to God. This historical event served as a dire warning to Judah, showing that God's promises of judgment were not empty threats.
