Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, is saying: I'm done with you. I'm turning against you completely, and I'm going to destroy all of Judah.
When God says he's done, he means it, there's no coming back from that line.
📚 Historical Context
During the time of the prophet Jeremiah, the people of Judah had been conquered by the Babylonians and many had fled to Egypt, seeking refuge after the destruction of Jerusalem. Despite God's repeated warnings through Jeremiah about their idolatry and unfaithfulness, they continued to worship false gods, breaking their covenant with Him. As a result, this verse records God's declaration of judgment, emphasizing His resolve to address their rebellion through severe consequences.
