📚 Historical Context
During the prophet Jeremiah's time in the 7th-6th centuries BC, the kingdoms of Israel and Judah were facing destruction and exile at the hands of the Babylonian Empire due to their repeated disobedience to God. Through Jeremiah, God delivered a message of hope, promising to reverse the captivity and bring His people back to the land He had given their ancestors. This prophecy was later fulfilled when the exiles returned to Jerusalem under Persian rule in the 6th century BC.
