And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
When that day comes, the LORD will whistle to call the fly from the farthest parts of Egypt's rivers and the bee from the land of Assyria.
God is saying He will summon the armies of Egypt and Assyria like someone calling insects, showing His complete control over foreign nations.
📚 Historical Context
Isaiah spoke this during the 8th century BC when the kingdom of Judah faced threats from neighboring powers. Egypt and Assyria were the two major superpowers of that era, often fighting for control over smaller nations like Israel and Judah. This prophecy came during a time when King Ahaz of Judah was considering alliances with these foreign powers instead of trusting in God.
