📚 Historical Context
During the reign of King Hezekiah in Judah around the 8th century BC, the kingdom faced threats from powerful empires like Assyria, and Hezekiah had recently recovered from a life-threatening illness. Envoys from Babylon arrived to inquire about his health and possibly to discuss alliances, leading Hezekiah to proudly display his treasures to them. This event sets the stage for Isaiah's prophetic warning about the dangers of such interactions, as recorded in the Book of Isaiah.
