And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
God said to Noah, 'I have decided that all living creatures must come to an end, because the earth is full of violence because of them. Look, I am going to destroy them along with the earth.'
God is telling Noah that He has decided to destroy all life on earth because the world has become filled with violence and corruption.
📚 Historical Context
In the biblical account of Genesis, the world had descended into widespread corruption and violence after the fall of humanity, with people turning away from God's ways and filling the earth with wickedness. God, observing this moral decay, speaks directly to Noah, a righteous man, to warn him of the impending judgment through a global flood. This sets the stage for the story of Noah's ark, where God preserves a remnant to start anew.
