And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
Joseph told his brothers, 'I am going to die, but God will certainly take care of you and bring you out of this land to the land he promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.'
Joseph is reassuring his family that even though he's dying, God will keep his promise to bring them to the promised land.
📚 Historical Context
This takes place at the end of Joseph's life in Egypt, where the Israelites had been living for many years after the great famine. Joseph, who had risen to become second-in-command in Egypt, is giving his final words to his family before his death. He's referring to God's covenant promise to give the land of Canaan to Abraham's descendants, a promise that wouldn't be fulfilled until the Exodus under Moses centuries later.
