✦ MADE SIMPLE

After Lot had separated from him, the LORD said to Abram, 'Lift up your eyes now and look from where you are standing—look north, south, east, and west.'

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

God is telling Abram to take in the full view of the land around him in every direction after his nephew Lot had moved away.

📚 Historical Context

This occurs after Abram and his nephew Lot had to separate because their flocks and herds had grown so large that the land couldn't support them both together. Lot had chosen to move toward the well-watered Jordan valley near Sodom, while Abram remained in the hill country of Canaan.
