Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
Then take some of those and throw them right into the fire to burn them up completely. From that fire, judgment is going to spread through all of Israel.
Sometimes the consequences we face become the very thing that affects everyone around us.
📚 Historical Context
Ezekiel was a prophet during the Babylonian exile in the 6th century BC, using symbolic acts to convey God's judgment on Israel for their persistent idolatry and disobedience to the covenant. In this verse, God instructs Ezekiel to take a portion of shaved hair, representing the people, and burn it, symbolizing how divine judgment would consume a remnant and spread to the entire nation, foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem. This dramatic prophecy served as a warning to the exiled Israelites about the consequences of their unfaithfulness.
