And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.
After these seven days are up, starting on day eight and every day going forward, the priests will offer your burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar. And here's the thing, I will accept you completely, says the Lord God.
God's acceptance isn't temporary, it's your new normal from day eight forward.
📚 Historical Context
Ezekiel was a prophet speaking to the exiled Jews in Babylon, envisioning a restored temple as a symbol of God's future presence and renewal for Israel after their judgment and captivity. This verse comes from a detailed vision in chapters 40-48, where the consecration of the altar over seven days represents purification and preparation for worship. It signifies the moment when God promises to accept the people's offerings, pointing to His covenant faithfulness and the end of exile.
