Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,
So here's what I'm going to do, I'm going to expose Moab's weak spots, starting with their border cities that they're most proud of: Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim, basically all their crown jewel locations.
God's about to hit them where it hurts most, their pride and joy cities.
📚 Historical Context
During the Babylonian exile in the 6th century BC, the prophet Ezekiel was delivering God's judgments against nations that had mistreated Israel, including Moab, which had long been a rival and had rejoiced in Judah's downfall. This verse specifically warns of God's plan to expose and weaken Moab's defenses by targeting their border cities, such as Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim, which were seen as the pride of their territory. It reflects the broader biblical theme of divine justice against those who oppose God's people.
