Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
This is what the Lord God says: Since you've all turned into worthless scraps, like the junk metal left over when you're trying to make something pure, I'm going to gather you all together right in the middle of Jerusalem.
When you become spiritually worthless, God doesn't ignore it, he calls you out.
📚 Historical Context
Ezekiel was a prophet ministering to the exiled Jews in Babylon, warning about the sins of those still in Jerusalem during a time of moral and spiritual decline. In this verse, God uses the metaphor of dross, impurities skimmed from molten metal, to describe how the people's idolatry, injustice, and corruption had made them worthless in His sight. This prophecy pointed to God's judgment through the Babylonian invasion, which would gather the people for punishment and lead to Jerusalem's destruction.
