And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
And if they still won't believe these two signs or listen to what you say, then take some water from the river and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will turn into blood when it hits the dry land.
God is giving Moses a third miraculous sign to convince the Israelites that God has truly sent him - water from the Nile turning to blood on dry ground.
📚 Historical Context
In the biblical narrative of Exodus, God is preparing Moses to confront Pharaoh and demand the release of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. To equip Moses, God gives him three miraculous signs to perform as proof of divine authority, helping to overcome skepticism from both the Israelites and the Egyptians. The third sign, as described in this verse, involves turning water from the Nile River into blood, foreshadowing God's judgment on Egypt and demonstrating His supremacy over their idols and natural elements.
