📚 Historical Context

In ancient Persian culture, approaching the king without being summoned was punishable by death unless the king showed mercy by extending his golden scepter. Queen Esther had risked her life by coming to the king uninvited because she needed to plead for her people, the Jews, who were facing genocide under Haman's evil decree.
