That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day:
So that you can enter into a covenant with the LORD your God, and accept His oath that the LORD your God is making with you today.

📚 Historical Context
Moses is speaking to the Israelites just before they enter the Promised Land, renewing the covenant God made with their ancestors at Mount Sinai. This covenant renewal ceremony was taking place in the plains of Moab, emphasizing both God's faithfulness to His promises and the people's responsibility to obey His commands. The formal language reflects the serious nature of ancient covenant-making, similar to binding legal agreements between nations or rulers.
