The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
The LORD will cause deadly diseases to stick to you until they destroy you completely from the land you are going to take as your own.
This verse warns that God will allow devastating plagues to persist among His people until they are wiped out from the promised land if they break their covenant with Him.
📚 Historical Context
This verse is part of the curses Moses proclaimed would come upon Israel if they disobeyed God's laws after entering the Promised Land. Moses was preparing the Israelites for life in Canaan, warning them of the serious consequences of abandoning their covenant relationship with God. These warnings were given just before the Israelites crossed the Jordan River to possess the land God had promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
