✦ MADE SIMPLE

📚 Historical Context

In the biblical narrative of Daniel, King Belshazzar was the ruler of Babylon during the time of the Jewish exile, a period when the Babylonian Empire was nearing its downfall. During a lavish feast he hosted, a mysterious hand appeared and wrote on the palace wall, filling the king with terror and prompting him to seek help from his wise men. Belshazzar promised rich rewards to anyone who could interpret the writing, reflecting the cultural reliance on astrologers and diviners in ancient Babylonian society for matters beyond human understanding.
