Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
So Daniel went straight to the king and asked if he could have some time to figure out what the dream meant and explain it to him.
Sometimes you need to ask for time to get the answer right.
📚 Historical Context
In the Babylonian exile around the 6th century BC, King Nebuchadnezzar had a disturbing dream and demanded that his wise men reveal both the dream and its interpretation under threat of death, which exposed the limits of human wisdom. Daniel, a young Jewish captive who had been trained in the king's court, stepped forward after hearing of the decree and requested time to seek divine insight. This event highlights the cultural clash between Babylonian pagan practices and the faith of God's people in a foreign land.
