Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
I will not make Israel wander away from the land I gave to their ancestors ever again, as long as they carefully obey everything I have commanded them and follow all the laws that my servant Moses gave them.
God is promising that Israel can stay in their homeland permanently if they obey His commands and follow the laws He gave through Moses.
📚 Historical Context
In the book of 2 Kings, this verse is part of the narrative about King Manasseh of Judah, who reigned in the 7th century BC and led the nation into widespread idolatry and rebellion against God, reversing the reforms of his father Hezekiah. God is here reiterating a promise originally made to the Israelites through earlier covenants, assuring them stability in the land given to their ancestors, but with the clear condition that they must obey His laws as delivered by Moses. This reflects the ongoing theme in the Old Testament of God's conditional blessings tied to covenant faithfulness.
