⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

This verse explains that God allowed King Ahaz of Judah to be defeated by both Syria and Israel as punishment for his unfaithfulness.

📚 Historical Context

This refers to King Ahaz of Judah around 735-715 BC, who had turned away from worshiping God and embraced pagan practices. Syria (Aram) and the northern kingdom of Israel had formed an alliance against Judah during this period. These military defeats were seen as God's judgment on Ahaz for his spiritual rebellion and idolatry.
