There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
No temptation has come your way that isn't common to everyone. But God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can handle. When temptation comes, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
God promises that he will never allow you to face a temptation that's too strong for you to handle, and he always provides a way through it.
📚 Historical Context
In the first century, the city of Corinth was a major center of Greek culture, rife with idolatry and immorality, which created ongoing challenges for the early Christian community there. Paul wrote his letter to the Corinthians to address these issues, drawing from Old Testament stories of Israel's wilderness experiences to warn against similar temptations and encourage steadfast faith. He emphasized God's reliability as a source of strength in the face of common human struggles.
