📚 Historical Context
During Solomon's reign as king of Israel, he enjoyed unprecedented wealth and wisdom but turned away from God by worshiping idols through his foreign wives, leading to divine judgment. God sent the prophet Ahijah to inform Jeroboam, one of Solomon's officials, that he would rule over ten tribes as punishment for Solomon's unfaithfulness. When Solomon discovered this prophecy, he attempted to kill Jeroboam, prompting him to flee to Egypt and find refuge under King Shishak until Solomon's death.
