And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
And you will not be guilty of sin because of it when you have offered the best portion from it. Don't treat the holy things of the Israelites as common or unclean, or you will die.
God is telling the Levites that if they give the best portion as their offering, they won't be guilty of wrongdoing, but they must treat Israel's holy offerings with proper respect or face death.
📚 Historical Context
This verse concludes God's instructions to the Levites about receiving tithes from the Israelites and then giving a tithe of those tithes to the priests. The Levites were allowed to eat from the offerings they received, but only after they had given the best portion to the priests. This system supported both the priests and Levites who had no land inheritance and devoted themselves to serving God and the people.
