Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
But Jesus wouldn't let him come along. Instead, he told him, 'Go back home to your people and tell them about all the amazing things God has done for you, how he showed you mercy and changed your life.'
Sometimes your biggest mission field is your own hometown, the people who knew you before God transformed you.
📚 Historical Context
In the biblical narrative of Mark 5, Jesus encounters a man possessed by a legion of demons in the region of the Gerasenes, a Gentile area outside Jewish territories. After casting out the demons and restoring the man to his right mind, the local people become fearful and urge Jesus to leave their region. Jesus then directs the healed man to return home and proclaim what God has done for him, emphasizing personal testimony over immediate discipleship.
