Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD’s house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’s house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD's temple, and speak to all the people from the cities of Judah who come to worship in the LORD's temple. Tell them every word that I command you to speak to them, don't leave out a single word.
God is commanding Jeremiah to deliver His complete message to all the worshipers at the temple, without editing or softening anything.
📚 Historical Context
During the time of the prophet Jeremiah in the 7th century BC, Judah was facing political instability and spiritual rebellion, as the people had turned away from God's laws and were influenced by idolatry amid threats from empires like Babylon. God specifically commanded Jeremiah to stand in the temple court, a central place of worship where people from various cities gathered, to deliver a warning of judgment if they did not repent. This instruction highlighted the urgency of prophetic messages in a society that often resisted divine truth.
