And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
And I will make you like a strong bronze wall to this people. They will fight against you, but they will not defeat you, because I am with you to save you and rescue you, says the LORD.
God is promising Jeremiah that He will make him strong like an unbreakable wall - people will oppose him, but God will protect him and they won't succeed.
📚 Historical Context
During the time of the prophet Jeremiah in ancient Judah, around the 6th century BC, the nation was facing invasion and judgment from Babylon due to their persistent idolatry and disobedience to God's laws. Jeremiah was divinely called to warn the people and leaders of impending doom, which often led to fierce opposition and persecution against him. In this verse, God promises to fortify Jeremiah like a strong, protective wall, assuring him of divine support amid the hostility.
