📚 Historical Context
In the book of Exodus, after the Israelites escaped from Egypt and received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, God provided detailed instructions for constructing the Tabernacle as a portable sanctuary for His presence. This verse describes Moses placing the stone tablets of the testimony, the Ten Commandments, inside the Ark of the Covenant, along with the carrying poles and the mercy seat on top, as part of the final assembly of the Most Holy Place. This act symbolized God's covenant with His people and His desire to dwell among them during their wilderness journey.
