✦ MADE SIMPLE

And if they still won't believe these two signs or listen to what you say, then take some water from the river and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will turn into blood when it hits the dry land.

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

God is giving Moses a third miraculous sign to convince the Israelites that God has truly sent him - water from the Nile turning to blood on dry ground.

📚 Historical Context

This verse is part of God's conversation with Moses at the burning bush, where Moses expressed doubts about whether the Israelites would believe God had sent him. God provided Moses with three progressive signs: his staff turning into a snake, his hand becoming leprous then healing, and finally this water-to-blood miracle. The Nile River was considered sacred by the Egyptians and was central to their survival, making this sign particularly powerful.
