This psalm is attributed to David during a time of great distress and persecution. The verse comes near the end of the psalm where David shifts from his personal suffering to a vision of universal praise and God's ultimate restoration. In ancient Hebrew thought, all of creation was seen as capable of praising God, not just humans.
