For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

📚 Contexto Histórico
This verse refers to God's judgment pronounced about 40 years earlier when the Israelites refused to enter the Promised Land after the negative report from 10 of the 12 spies. Because of their lack of faith and rebellion, God declared that entire generation would die in the wilderness and never see the land He had promised them. Only Caleb and Joshua, who had given a faithful report and trusted God, were spared from this judgment.
