📚 Contexto Histórico
This occurs as the Israelites are preparing to enter the Promised Land after 40 years in the wilderness. The tribes of Reuben and Gad had requested to settle in the fertile land east of the Jordan River (Gilead) because it was perfect for their large herds. Moses initially worried they were abandoning their fellow Israelites, but they promised their fighting men would still help conquer the land west of the Jordan.
