This verse is part of the dedication ceremony for the newly rebuilt walls of Jerusalem around 445 BC. Nehemiah had led the Jewish people in reconstructing the city walls after their return from Babylonian exile. The ceremony included two large choirs and groups of priests with musical instruments processing around the walls to consecrate and celebrate this monumental achievement.
