📚 Contexto Histórico
In the time of Jesus, the country of the Gergesenes was a region east of the Sea of Galilee, likely in what is now modern-day Syria or Jordan, inhabited by Gentiles and known for its pagan influences. This event occurs shortly after Jesus calmed a storm on the sea, showcasing his growing ministry of miracles as he ventured into non-Jewish territories. The mention of demon-possessed men living among tombs highlights the cultural fear of such places, which were associated with death and spiritual uncleanness in ancient Jewish and Greco-Roman societies.
