And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
In the era of the Judges, ancient Israel was under oppression from King Jabin of Canaan and his military commander Sisera, leading to a cycle of rebellion and deliverance by God through chosen leaders. Deborah, a prophetess and judge, rallied Barak to lead an Israelite army against them, resulting in a decisive victory where Sisera fled and sought refuge in the tent of Heber the Kenite. When Barak pursued Sisera, he was met by Jael, who revealed that she had killed the enemy commander by driving a tent peg through his temple, fulfilling God's judgment.
