✦ SIMPLIFICADO

During the 6th century BC, after the Babylonian conquest of Judah in 586 BC, many surviving Jews fled to Egypt to seek refuge from ongoing threats and hardship. Jeremiah, a prophet commissioned by God, was among them and delivered warnings against their idolatry and unfaithfulness, predicting that their actions would lead to divine judgment and prevent their return to Judah. This verse highlights God's unyielding justice toward a people who ignored His calls for repentance despite their longing for home.
